A few of us gals recently decided to take an impromptu drive up to Santa Barbara for the weekend. It was the perfect weekend with great weather, no major traffic (!!!) and no worries, but the hotel we stayed in, Hotel Oceana, made it a clear win!

The first thing that impressed me about Hotel Oceana, obviously, was that it was right across the street from the beach! You could be on the sand in a hop, skip and a jump!

As a boutique hotel, I expected something small, however there were a variety of rooms with large grass areas in between. The rooms were cute and comfortable and the grounds were well taken care of.

The front desk area/lobby was also very comfortable and inviting. The service from check-in to departure was great. They offer a complimentary continental breakfast for all guests in a cute little cottage on site.

One of the highlights for me was being able to borrow a few of the bikes from the hotel’s fleet. We rode them up and down the beach, on the pier, on the bustling State Street, and up to the gorgeous neighboring town, Montecito. They were first come, first serve, so I’d definitely recommend grabbing yours on the early side of the day.

A lazy afternoon at the pool was also a great choice! Alongside the pool chairs, they have cute little cabanas for a little shade if you need it. Towels were provided at the pool area and we eventually got over to the hot tub when the sun went down. My camera died before we got to the pool so I didn’t get any photos, but you can check them out on their website when you go to make your reservation!
