Morocco is a place I have been longing to visit. It’s culture and natural beauty draw me closer and closer to making it happen. Some day.

One thing I do want to try in Morocco: An excursion with Camel Trekking.
In a nut shell, you’ll canvas the desert in an authentic day tour, taking in some of the grand sights and experiencing a lot of what Morocco has to offer.

A visit to the Sahara desert is definitely an experience everyone should have at least once in their lifetime. It is a journey well worth the effort and you will have fond memories to last you forever. Imagine yourself on top a camel, trekking through the Sahara desert. There is nothing around you and all you can hear are the footsteps of the camel on the soft sand. The sky is vast and clear in the day and filled with millions of bright stars at night. It is a very peaceful experience, one rarely known to most of the Western World.
There is a 3 day tour from Marrakech, it’s the most popular and one that I have my eye on. It takes you through a bunch of historical sites and famous landmarks. You’ll ride in a 4×4 Landcruiser, stay in a hotel one night, and in a camp tent the other. A 2 hour camel ride and food is included.
Day 1 – Marrakech , Dades Gorge:
We will pick you up at 8am, then travel over the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2260m/7414 f) while enjoying superb views of the mountains and of the Berber Villages on the way. Stop for lunch and tour in the World heritage site of Ait Benhaddou. (This famous kasbah was used as a backdrop for more than 20 films.) Pass through Ouarzazate and continue towards the Valley of Roses and the Dades valley, Skoura oisis with it’s authentic 17 century kasbah, the valley of a thousand Kasbahs and the Dades Gorge. Stay overnight at a hotel.
Day 2 – Dades Gorge to Merzouga:
Breakfast at the hotel. Depart to the Todra Gorge: a massive fault, rising to 300 m in a narrow valley thickstudded with palmeries and Berber Villages. After lunch in the gorge, we will drive to the great sand dunes of Erg Chebbi where you will take a camel ride (about one hour and a half) in order to get to your Nomadic Berber tents, dinner, camp fire, drum party and overnight stay in the desert.
Day 3 – Merzouga to Marrakech :
Return back to Ouarzazate and back over the High Atlas Mountains, arrival at 7pm (aprox).
Operation, bucket list! I WILL visit Morocco and I WILL go on this excursion!

Camel trekking in sahara desert is one of the best thing to do, i highely recommend it.
